Draft Environmental Assessment (Draft EA)

The Draft Environmental Assessment is a related Federal document prepared under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), by the Federal Lead Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The Corps of Engineers issued a Public Notice of Proposed Federal Action (2 page, 32 kb, PDF file). This notice stated, in part, "Environmental issues relating to the proposed action are discussed in the Draft Environmental Assessment which has been prepared and is available for public review. The public is invited to review and provide written comments on this documentation for the proposed San Gabriel River Discovery Center at Whittier Narrows." The Public Notice Comment Period ran from July 22 through August 20, 2009. Copies of the document were available for review at the following locations:
